Hi my loves! Thought I’d hop on here and share what I do each Sunday to make my week as productive and off to the best start as possible! I think it’s really important to take the weekend as a chance to gather up all the duties you have to get done and make a plan! I’m not a super organized person, I don’t write everything down, I don’t always maintain the most clean work space, BUT I try! That’s all that matters 😉
Pin for later!
1. Do something for YOU!
Take the weekend opportunity to do something you’ve been wanting to do but been too busy, or splurge a bit on something you’ve been eyeing, point is take a few minutes out of your Sunday or maybe even an hour to do something for YOU. Whether that be spending an hour making a nice breakfast for yourself, watching your favorite movie, taking a bubble bath, it’s crucial you spend some time on yourself. I strongly believe that you need to fill your own cup before you can fill anyone else’s.
2. Take a mental note or jot down the tasks you need to accomplish in the following week.
Everybody is different, some people don’t find it effective to write down everything, some people do. I’m about 50/50, I’ll write tasks down if I feel I’ll forget, but for the most part, I make a mental checklist, so do what works for you girl! Point here is.. make sure you’ve got a layout of the tasks to get done, so that in the next step we can prioritize what’s more important and how you’ll get them done!
3. Run through your tasks and label what needs to be done ASAP, and what can wait..
I find it helpful to think to myself about what’s more urgent to get done, and what will effect my week if I don’t finish it ASAP. For example, you may be planning to do a new blog post, but you also have an exam due Tuesday. I’d make sure I get that exam done first so that I can focus my full energy on putting out a quality blog post!
4. Clean up your room!
So simple but goes a long way, with a clean room, you feel like you can take on the world! It’s so nice to wake up on a Monday morning to fresh sheets, folded clothing, and no mess on the floor. Make Sunday your day to clean up the mess around your space, that way your mind will be more clear and stress-free.
5. Get inspired!
Take some new inspiration on Sunday, whether it’s from reading someone else’s blog, reading your local newspaper, watching a documentary, listening to some self development online, take at least 30 minutes on Sunday to learn something new, and get motivated!
6. Schedule up your content!
If you are putting out blog posts, social media content, take Sunday to schedule out anything you can to save time and headaches later. I love to schedule my blog posts ahead of time and write them all up so they’re ready to be published when I need them out. Also, for social media, I love using the Buffer app! It’s free, and connects to your Facebook and Instagram.
7. Meal prep for the week!
Such a time-saver. Luckily, I do work from home so most days I don’t find the need to meal prep, however, when I used to work at an office I would always make Sunday my day to prepare my food! There’s tons of easy Crockpot recipes you can find online that will last you for a whole week and stay really fresh, overall you just feel more organized with your life when it’s lunch time and you don’t have to go frantically searching for something to eat.
8. Light some candles, make yourself a cup of tea, and put up some relaxing music before bed.
During the week days things can get quite busy and chaotic, that we don’t even properly take time for ourselves before bed. Some days I just wrap up what I’m doing, turn off the lights, and that’s it! Before I know it, alarm goes off and it’s time to get up again. I don’t feel refreshed, and full of energy. I find taking some time before bed to wind down helps A LOT!
9. Set the non-negotiables for the week.
Take a pen and paper out, or your journal, and write down the tasks you MUST complete Monday through Friday, this helps a lot with prioritizing and not being all over the place later in the mid-week. I like to write down the main things that gotta be done each day, and then since life is so unpredictable, all the extra tasks you can plan around those.
10. Speak positive affirmations!
Start your week off with a positive mindset, get yourself into a good headspace. Saying positive affirmations make such a HUGE difference, whether it’s a few things you say to yourself before bed or maybe write down in a journal every night. A bonus to this would be searching up on Youtube videos about self-development or reading a good book as well! Goes a long way when you feed your brain such positivity.
Love these tips! I’ve really been trying to utilize my planner more. When it comes down to really getting things done I feel like lists work wonders for me. It’s an accomplishment to slash out a task you’ve completed with your favorite pen, isn’t it? I think you’re totally right on giving yourself some self-love and positive affirmations at the beginning of the week, if possible, work it in all week! Lol. Thanks for sharing your list doll!!
These are great tips…I do some of them already, now I have more to add!
I wanted to add to my other comment! I feel like meal prepping has been my saving grace! During a busy week there is no better feeling than coming home and knowing what you are having for dinner! The time consuming tasks are done and putting the meal together takes minutes!! That makes for a calm, relaxing evening!!
Loved this!! I absolutely love turning on candles that smell good! I usually do that every evening to just help me relax. I also try to drink a hot tea at least 2x a week. These are all really great ideas though. I need to do more myself on Sundays so thanks for sharing this list!!
Super helpful. A lot of these I already do because being a blogger babe means most of these are ways of life.
These are really great tips girl, thank you! Loved tip No. 2!
